Awards sponsored by Del Taco and Hometown Buffet were given out at the end of camp based on age group contest winners. The Lions Award was given out to those campers who showed outstanding work ethic, determination and a positive attitude throughout the camp. The three winners were Ethan Friesen, Tabitha Mills and Sandra Henschke.
The basketball camp was directed by Greg Hardie, coach of the VCA boys’ and girls’ basketball teams. Coach Hardie has directed basketball camps for many years and has worked at numerous college basketball camps throughout his career. Eighteen of his former high school players have gone on to play basketball at the college level. Assisting at the camp were VCA players Chris Wallace, Gabriel Flores and Garrison Hardie.
