How are you weathering the weather?
(Asked at Nob Hill at Kirkwood Plaza)

“I love the weather. I love it when it’s storming and raining. We just finished cleaning up the back yard and took all of the Christmas stuff down before it blew all over.”

“A tree fell on our house and broke our new roof. It fell across the walkway and my husband is meeting with the city. No one was hurt, there were just a few roof leaks and my granddaughter slept through it. We lost power for four hours. I’m ready for the next one but glad it won’t be as bad as last Friday [Jan. 4].”

“We’re still defrosting. Our power was out for two days. It came back on Sunday. It was really hard on my mom who lives with us.”

Laurel Weisler, 55

“We spent the time inside the house, like old people. Our power was out about 1½ hours. It wasn’t out too long.”

Nancy, 84

“We’ve been cozying up to the fire with Merlot paired with my favorite dark chocolate and popcorn."

Katherine Petrucci, 48

“We’ve been hunkered down with lots of blankets and books and Monopoly. Our power was out for a few hours. When it went back on, we turned the furnace way up to prepare ourselves if it went out again. The boys played video games and I remembered black outs from the past when my family took sleeping bags and settled in front of the fireplace. I think of places like Baghdad where terrible things happen daily and realize how lucky we are.”

"It’s been tough for the past few days. We lost power, and it’s been on and off. On Friday and part of the time on Saturday it was off. The drains were flooding and we had to unclog them. But we really needed the rain and we should be happy about it. It would have been nice if it was spread out more though.”

Wilhelmus Vurst, 49

"We’ve weathered it just fine with no problems, no leaks and no power outage.”
