CAMPBELL CRIME REPORT
Auto Theft
Dec. 11, San Tomas Aquino Road (Longs parking lot)
Two suspects smashed the window to a 2005 Honda Accord and stole the Sirius Satellite radio. An officer searched the area and detained two 16-year-old juveniles and recovered the property.
Suspicious Circumstances
Dec. 13, Dry Creek Road at Leigh Avenue
An officer was flagged down by a resident that stated that three Hispanic male adults wearing orange vests and driving a white minivan came to his house and represented themselves as Water Company employees. They asked to come inside to check the “water pressure.” They fled in the van when the reporting party denied them access. This matches similar cases in San Jose, Mountain View and other Bay Area cities where the suspects have been successful at gaining entry and then stealing thousands of dollars worth of property while one suspect distracts a victim while the other suspects steal items in the house.
Drunk in Public
Dec. 18, W. Hamilton Avenue
Two female suspects, one 24 and one 22 years old, knocked on the door and when the door was opened they forced their way into the apartment. They were too intoxicated to know that they were in the wrong apartment.
Battery
Dec. 30, E. Campbell Ave.
Two male suspects, one 23 and one 24 years old, were intoxicated inside a bar and were bumping into people while dancing. A patron pushed one of the suspects and he reacted by grabbing a female off of a barstool and throwing her to the ground. He then began punching her in the back of the head. The second suspect ended up hitting several people in the scuffle that ensued after this happened. Both suspects were arrested.
Shoplifting
Dec. 31, E. Hamilton Ave. (Fry’s)
A 17-year-old boy concealed an X-Box game and left the store without paying. He was cited for shoplifting.
Assault, Vandalism
Dec. 31, Camden Avenue (Jack-in-the-Box)
The victim’s car was in line at the drive up when the suspect’s car cut in line. A fight ensued where victim 1 was hit with a beer bottle and his friends were punched. Suspect 2 pulled a small knife on a victim.
Theft
Jan. 1, S. Bascom Avenue(Performance Bikes)
A 43-year-old male suspect went into the bike store and walked out with a bicycle. Officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle and the suspect was located at his house where he admitted to the theft and the bicycle was recovered. He was arrested.
Vandalism
Dec. 22, S Winchester Boulevard
An officer observed a 17-year-old, male spinning the tires of his Ford Mustang and damaging the newly painted parking stall in the rear parking lot of a business.
